A Month of Limericks
Part 1
In October I wrote a limerick a day. Sometimes two. I’ll be posting them 11 at a time over the next few weeks. Let me know which ones you like in the comments.
1. I once had a dog I named Jim, So full of vigor and vim, He’d leap through the air Off of my chair And bounce with a gamboling shim! This dog I call Pete is quite small; In stature he’s not very tall. But he’s sweet and polite, Won’t growl, snarl, or bite. He’s the kindliest dog of them all! 2. A beautiful girl is a pleasure, Someone to worship and treasure. If you make one your wife You’ll be happy for life. That’s wealth that no science can measure. 3. Humans and pets all get sick; A flu or a cold’s no picnic! With pets it’s so tough To know why they feel rough-- So get to the vet double quick! 4. The knife man did such wicked work. In shadows he’d quietly lurk. Awaiting his mark, He’d strike from the dark Then disappear into the murk. 5. Writing’s a wonderful thing; Your words forever can ring Through the ages to be Read with tears, fright, or glee, Or what thoughts you wished them to bring! 6. Route Sixty-six was the main road; From Shy Town to L.A. it flowed. Cross the country it went, Sometimes straight, often bent, And cars travelled it by the truckload. 7. Let me wander in meadows where melodies Are hummed by slim maidens in revelry. With goldenrod hair, And voices so fair They still all my soul’s awful maladies. 8. In the north, in a princely stronghold, Lived a knight so exceedingly bold He would never back down From a chance at renown; His valor he’d promptly uphold. One day, to this knight’s castle gate Came a young man in full armor plate. A challenge was made, To the knight was conveyed, While the youth in the courtyard did wait. 9. The knight to the courtyard did go To see who would deal his death blow. When he saw the youth there Spitting hate in his stare, He asked, ‘Why do you loathe me so?”

Nice and eclectic.
My favorite was 7 -- it's very soothing.
4 was also cool -- how it came and went, just like the knife man.
How did you like doing a daily project like this?
